Spoken Words

Words are powerful and I often wonder why actions can be forgotten but words stick like fatty cells and like fat cells they shrink or expand. The Bible states that life and death is in the power of the tongue. That is the most powerful scripture to most people. As humans, we hear things actively and unintentionally. Meaning I hear you but I wasn’t listening to you.
I remember playing as a child in the living room with my toys and intensely into my mind when I heard my mother walking around the kitchen on the phone talking. I didn’t know what she was saying but a part of my brain kicked in long enough to hear “ I have three kids” and at the time there were four of us. I knew in my heart I was not apart of the three kids she was stating only because I lived with her on and off for years since I was a year old. This hurt beyond words and yet it was a statement she probably didn’t mean in the way I perceived it however it stuck with me.
Small words and statements becomes a snowball that keeps rolling and rolling only getting bigger and becoming more dangerous and no one knows what the impact will cause. That one statement was painful at the time but as time went on I heard more words and statement that added to that little pieces and grew fast. Never mind the apologies they couldn’t erase what i had heard. Those little pieces grew to become resentment, abandonment, insecure, and much more.
Be careful what you speak in the atmosphere because you cant take it back and you never want to be that tiny piece that cause and avalanche in someone’s life.
